Three fold examination

Process of examination of the patient, is very important in the evaluation of the disease for the Ayurvedic vaidya. Where knowledge of scriptures (Aptopadesh), direct observation (Pratyaksha praman) and inference (Anuman). Are all very important tools of information.

The examination can be carried out in the following manner.

(1) Visual observation (Darshan)
(2) Tactile perception (Sparsha)
(3) Questioning (Prashna)
